Happy Holidays, y’all! We are so excited to share our holiday home tour this year! Having our own house for the first time has given the holidays a whole new meaning for us. Its given us the opportunity to open our home to so many friends, family, neighbors and colleagues over the past few weeks that my heart could just burst! So many shared meals, memories and laughs has constantly reminded us why we are so thankful.

Of course, with all the holiday celebrations and dinner parties, a decorated and festive home was very important to me. If you’ve seen our previous home posts or design inspo, you know we went for a sophisticated glam look with vintage and traditional touches and a color palette consisting of gray, seafoam, white, gold and dark brown accents.

I wanted our holiday decor to coordinate well with the style of our home, so we brought these same colors into our Christmas tree, mantle and garlands. I found the perfect velvet d.Stevens ribbon (I highly recommend working with high quality ribbon like d.Stevens in your holiday decor) at Holiday Warehouse (my absolute FAVORITE holiday decor store in Plano, Texas) that brought in our signature seafoam color with platinum and gold accents that just screamed me. So, of course, I designed our entire holiday look around this ribbon and I could not be more thrilled with how it turned out! We invite you in and hope you enjoy this tour of our home this season!

Merry Christmas!

P.S. Be sure to check out previous years Christmas styles if you’re looking for a more metallic look, winter wonderland, or traditional wintery rustic look (my personal favorite)!

Please pardon these terribly unprofessional photos. This was a last minute project that we did and thanks to all your sweet requests, we decided to share!

Since we purchased our house in March, I’ve been heads down focused on home decor, curtain selection, and how the heck to organize my study, and I completely lost track of the seasons. So when I finally looked at my calendar last week and realized we have over 7 different dinner parties at our house over the next month, all fabric stalking had to pause and I majorly needed to add some fall festivity to our home and spruce up our front porch to welcome all our upcoming guests!

If you’ve been following the blog for a while now, you know how I love to add a touch of glam to everything – and that includes our fall decor. I’ve had my eye set on these gorg Hot Skwash pumpkins from my inspo board, but, of course, time got away from me before I ordered them and I needed a festive and budget friendly porch display ASAP. So I went the DIY route with these metallic spray painted pumpkins and I’m SO glad we did.

This project cost less than $60 and I’ve been receiving so many sweet compliments on them from you all and our neighbors! So as promised, here is my quick and easy DIY tutorial for a festive and glam pumpkin display.

Confession. I’ve been watching a LOT of Grey’s Anatomy lately. For those who haven’t, I highly recommend. I can’t stop watching (I’m on my second time through), A) Because the show is so dang good and B) Because I am in love with the new custom chairs in my living room and can’t stop sitting in them!

As most of you know, Landon and I bought our first home this year and have been balancing the budget vs. splurge spends while furnishing our home. When designing our living room, Landon and I knew we wanted a show-stopping set of custom chairs – something that perfectly complemented our décor and style but was also unique and one of a kind. Only problem is, a custom designed chair from some of my favorite retail stores can be upwards of $2k, and when starting from scratch in furnishing this home, that was a little out of our budget.

Luckily, Landon and I discovered Debra at One of a Kind Transformations and were able to add a pair of dream-come-true chairs to our new home with her help! Coming from a small apartment with just one couch, we spent so much time pondering how to fill the added seating space that came with a house. What color would they be? What type of fabric? How could we pull it off without breaking the bank?

The fabulous mother daughter duo at One of a Kind Transformations allowed us to turn a bargain buy into a statement piece and bring our visions to life! We tracked down two vintage wingback chairs on an online resale site and used one of our older chairs that has followed me from apartment to apartment for years with the intention of getting them recovered.

Repainting your home or even a single room in your house can feel like a daunting task, but with these simple steps, this overwhelming process easily melts away and quickly becomes a rewarding and extremely exciting process!

Step 1 – Select Your Paint Brand

Between all the different home improvement stores and specialty brands, there are quite a few different paint options you can use to refinish your home. At the start of the home design process, Landon and I did more than our fair share of research and are so glad we decided to use Sherwin-Williams paint and products to give our home a fresh look. The paint itself is a ultra-high quality, which allows for richer colors, as well as better bonding and coverage. And, whether you’re dealing with the folks at the store or the online ColorSnap Visualizer, deciding on a paint is a hands-on, informative process.

Seriously, I could talk about this for hours. I never thought it was possible to know so much about paint!

Step 2 – Select your Paint Color

If you’re painting your house, you probably have an idea in mind for what color you want (or at least what color family) but this part of the process can be a bit more overwhelming than you may expect. Sherwin-Williams has dozens and dozens of shades of each color and each one will have a different impact on your home and its ambiance – especially in different lighting. Hop on over to our post about how to select the perfect paint color to help make this tricky decision a bit easier!

Huge thank you to Sherwin-Williams for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own.

Life is full of complex decisions. Like when my hubs and I are at the neighborhood frozen yogurt shop and I’m staring at the levers for both strawberry and swiss chocolate – the struggle is real. Landon is stuck between the cake batter and the cookies and cream. Oh, the suspense… Or when I’m deciding between a salted or sugar rim for my favorite strawberry jalapeno margarita…do I really want sweet or salty?

Now imagine our trouble when faced with an actual difficult decision like what color to paint our new home. Believe me when I say it’s intimidating. There are thousands of different combinations between all of the types, sheens, colors, and shades that can make the process feel extremely overwhelming.

But luckily for you, we’re here to boil down that crazy process. For the frozen yogurt dilemma, just get both flavors and your problem is solved. For the paint decision, follow these simple steps!

Step 1 – Determine Your Color Palette

Selecting your color palette is the most important step in determining the perfect Sherwin-Williams colors to complement your home and decor. It sets the entire tone for your home and helps determine the mood and ambience that you want to create. Lighter colors can make a smaller room look bigger, while darker colors can make a room feel smaller but cozier. Do you want to create a peaceful and sophisticated tone? Consider blues, greens, or neutrals. Looking for a cozy and welcoming vibe? Consider warmer colors like red or yellows.

Landon and I wanted to create a spa-like oasis in our home, so I knew we wanted a combination of light grays and seafoam greens or spa blues. Okay, so that narrows it down to only about 458 shades. Great. Help hone in on a color family by gathering any fabrics you know you want incorporated in your home and using them as a guideline for matching wall color and furniture! I also created this handy inspo board, which really helped me direct my color choices!

Step 2 – Get Familiar with the Colors with the ColorSnap Visualizer

Y’all, if you’re not familiar with the ColorSnap Visualizer tool, drop everything and get over to their site ASAP. Seriously. It’ll change your life.

We are so excited to finally share our backyard reveal! When we moved into our new home back in April, we knew the backyard patio was one of the first parts of the house that we wanted to furnish. We host weekly BBQs and dinner parties, so outdoor entertaining space was super important to us so our friends could lounge and play lawn games while we fire up the grill.

The interior of our home is pretty neutral and traditional in nature (check out our inspo board here) and is filled with spa-like colors, so I wanted something bolder and “pop-ier” for the outside.

I put together the inspiration board here, to assist as we started styling the patio and I think it came out pretty similarly! Thanks to my parents’ sweet house warming gift, Landon is loving every second with our new Big Green Egg, so I got a little more leeway with the bright pink patterns and palm leaves everywhere!

Summer is here and Landon and I are in full force furnishing mode with our new home. And thanks to the Dallas sun and our weekly BBQ’s, our priorities of completing the dining room and study have completely shifted and we are now fully focused on creating an outdoor backyard oasis for all our friends to enjoy!

Since the interior of our home is more neutral and spa like in style, I wanted something bold and bright that really popped! I’ve opted for a pink, green, black and white color palette with touches of gold and, luckily, thanks to this natural palm leaf print, my husband is fully on board!

I’ve done a round up of some of our favorite pieces that we are using as inspo. Most of these items are accent pieces, so you can easily incorporate them into your seasonal decor as well! Stay tuned for the full reveal shortly!

Thank you all so much for being so patient with us as we have been taking some time off to get settled in our new home! As most of you know, Landon and I bought our first house a few weeks ago and we have been up to our elbows in boxes, packing tape, paint samples and fabric swatches!

So many of you have expressed interest in the process of how we turn our vintage little charmer into a home suit for everyday entertaining! We can’t wait to show you all the exciting projects we’ve been working on, but in the meantime, we wanted to share the inspiration board that we put together which has been serving as our guide in designing our home!

Style wise – we are going for a sophisticated glam look with vintage and traditional touches. Our home was built in the ’50s but has been updated in the past few years, so we are trying to build off the vintage charm and continue to bring in a sophisticated and contemporary vibe. We want it to have a sense of formality but still be comfortable and approachable for our guests and a little oasis for us when we get home.

We are focusing on a color palette consisting of gray, seafoam, white, gold and dark brown accents. We are carrying this color scheme throughout the entire home to give it some unity, with the exception of our guest room and study, which will be a bit more bold.

We are having so much fun with this process and have some big updates for you over the next few months, but in the meantime, be sure to check out our Instagram story for daily projects and updates in real time! We can’t wait until our little project is fully entertaining ready!

If you read our post about how to prepare your home for guests, you know how important it is to make sure your guests feel right at home by welcoming them with some of their favorite treats and creating a warm and comfortable space for them.

Of course, one of the most important aspects of hosting overnight guests is the guest bedroom and preparing their own little oasis, but not to be overlooked, is the guest bathroom!

When I stay at a hotel, one of the main aspects that I judge the entire hotel on is the style and feel of the bathroom. If it’s not clean and crisp, I assume the entire hotel is not. But if it has a luxurious and custom feel, my reviews of the hotel are glowing. Same goes for the home. Obviously, no one thinks your home is a hotel, but why not class it up and give it a luxurious and custom feel?!

I’ve gathered some of my favorite stylish bathroom decor and products to give your guest bathroom that extra oomph that will have your guests seeing hearts (without the large price tag of a remodel)! Enjoy and happy hosting!

We are so excited for Week 4 of our Interior Design Series! For the past few weeks, we’ve been talking about our favorite kitchen hacks, how to customize your home and maximize small spaces,  and now we are so excited to share how we brought this all together with our home tour!

Living in downtown Dallas in a small 700sf apartment, I wanted to create a  luxurious and serene oasis in our apartment. I focused on a neutral color palette with beiges and whites and then added hints of aqua in the living room to give it a calming feel and hints of navy and gold in the bedroom to give it a little pop.

So without further ado, welcome to our home!
